Site Visit Monday 7/10/13

1. Monday - visit - reminder:
ALL VISIT INFO ON STUDYNET

Make sure to prepare and think beforehand of what the task requires and what you may be particularly interested in - inside the space and in the area surrounding Arcola / how these connect. Make sure the mapping you do serves a purpose. I gave you some inspirational sheets to start thinking creatively, and start using new ways of drawing and describing space. I want everyone to use these kinds of techniques. Theme: IDENTITY.

When you enter Arcola, what does the space tell you - what is the IDENTITY (or not?) how well do you navigate through the space - signs - lighting - circulation etc - This is very useful for your own design ideas - the visit is the start for your design process - YOU WILL COME UP WITH A DESIGN FOR THE SPACE SHOWING THE IDENTITY OF THE ARCOLA. Improving existing space. We will get more info of areas to focus on from the client on Monday.

Compulsory = Quality time spent producing sketches, drawings, details, photos. You present all with site visit info/Mapping next Monday.

2. BLOG - please send me your blog links WITH WORK IN PROGRESS - I will publish all links here - continue to update.

3. Spatial Analysis task - continue experiments and record on site visit. Add to BLOGS.

4. GATHER SUFFICIENT, RELEVANT INFORMATION FOR THE MAPPING - Arcola interior, drawings, ideas. Dalston area mapping also important to be comprehensive. Return to the site as often as necessary after the visit, in your own time.

5. Establish clear links between Technology, Communication and Design Studio projects.

Enjoy the weekend and see you Monday.
Heidi

Remember to work on the Spatial Analysis too...
